Various projects with clients have led to the development of new and obsolescence-resistant system designs. Below are a few examples of the advanced engineering and product development for which NavCom is most noted.

  • Developed multipath mitigation algorithms for a now patented dual frequency receiver for a major European survey instrument company.
  • Developed an integrated C-band satcom/GPS receiver for the John Deere Company and Omnistar, Inc., providing customers with real time differential GPS positioning for high accuracy precision farming applications. This product required the creation of an advanced digital spread spectrum demodulator ASIC.
  • Engineered a GPS/Glonass survey receiver which leverages the precise positioning of both satellite systems for a European supplier.
  • Design and development of a GPS/WAAS engine for UPS Aviation Technologies for use in their FAA certified aeronautical navigation products.
  • Developed and installed, jointly with a large industrial manufacturer, a wide area real time GPS system for global positioning and communications used to support a broad variety of vehicle and asset tracking applications such as farming, offshore rig positioning and surveys, and railroad control. This system provides DGPS accuracy at the decimeter level, two-way messaging communications capability and incorporates our NCT-2000 D™ dual frequency, high accuracy GPS engine.
  • Developed and produced a family of geodetic quality GPS survey receiver systems for a leading Japanese survey instrument company. The PowerGPS™ receiver continues to be the most accurate survey receiver on the market today.
  • Design of spread spectrum radio for collection and dissemination of data.
  • Developed and integrated a low cost L-band satcom transceiver for data transmission over INMARSAT and other mobile satellite systems.
